IQ testIQ testsIQ is the most known one of different tests, and perhaps, this test is encompassed with the greatest interest. The explanation is probably that the IQ tests belong to the efficiency tests, therefore its filling up means a kind of self-made intelligence estimation, in the result of which you can take pride, but in case of a moderate result you can it play down. In the today’s, by media dominated world the IQ is a bit overdimensioned (quiz-games, MENSA-clubs etc.), but in connection IQ there are heavy discussions on: what can we view as IQ and what can you do with the result you have measured. It is worthy to go back to the origin, when you wanted to understand it. The IQ-tests have appeared in the psychology approaching 100 years ago or so, and in course of the past 100 years they were modified in many respects, but - regarding the method - they agree with Alfred Binet’s original test. Early in the century Binet examined the children’s intelectual capability on behalf of the French government with the aim to control the matureness for school, an his theory was built ont he fact, that the children perform on different level in the different periods of age, and on basis of this Binet has assigned a standardized average level to every lifeyear, and he has compared the examined child’s capabilities to this. The definitions he applied are the „mentality age” (MK) and the „time of life” (ÉK), the relation of which he examined. Originally Binet did not consider the quotient, but the difference, that is he examined, whether the mentality age deviates from the real time of life, so Binet took into consideration the difference between the two characteristics , and he did not take their quotient into consideration. Some years after Binet’s quotient Stern created the definition of „Intelligence Quotient”, which is not else, as the quotient of „mentality age” (MK) and the „time of life” (MK) multiplied by 100. Its formula:: IQ=(MK/ÉK)*100 So can be interpreted that there are children, whose IQ point can be also 200 or so – in such case the mentality age (thinking’s state of development, ability to solve problems etc.) is twice as much as the time of life. Consequently for example: when a child aged 8 performs on a level as a child at the age of 16. But for the at the adult age-group you can not make IQ test on basis of this principle, as in course of adult „ages” the intellectual capabilities can not be connected to periods of time of life – in such sens of the word. (think of the fact, that the process of becoming adult, the learning comes to an end at age The Intelligence Quotient generally shows, how intelligent a given environment holds the individual, which else refers also to that, how can the test subject know his way around the world surrounding him. It can be observed, when somebody changes culture, his quotient falls by 5-10 points according to the examination made in the new environment. In interpretation of IQ it can be an interessant question, that there is not significant connection betwee a person’s success and his measurd IQ points, that is there very successful people who reached low points, and there are very „unsuccessful” people who reached very high point. According to this the IQ measurement itself is suitable for judgement of successfulness or unsuccessfulness not at all. Together with this, for example: it is very often found in job selection, sith the high IQ point number refers to well confinable advantages in case of existing of „other” characteristics, consecutively it can help to select the most ideal candidate – combining it with other examinations. It's obvious that in case of high IQ point number it can be expected a quicker reaction, a higher level of general education, the familiarity with the world1s events, than in case of a much lower level. No doubt we speak about mental disease in case of very low piont number.
Different levels are defined in case of IQ tests, which are the follow ones:
In our case the IQ tests having important informations considering proving to be good for the job are available in printed or online form. Last Updated (Friday, 27 August 2010 06:40) |
